On September 12, during the 4th Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met participants of the first conference of young diplomats of the countries of the Asia-Pacific region.
The event is focused on the discussion of urgent problems of modern international relations, challenges and threats, the digitalization of the world economy, prospects for cooperation of young diplomats in the context of the problems of the Asia-Pacific region. Chairman of the Council of Young Diplomats of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Konstantin Kolpakov was the moderator of the meeting.
Minnikhanov stressed that Tatarstan is actively developing relations with the countries of the Asia-Pacific region, including China, South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore. This is not just about trade and economic relations, but also about establishing scientific, educational and cultural ties, he added.
"It is important to us to adopt positive experience in terms of improving central and local government, creating infrastructure for the development of small and medium-sized businesses," he said.
Minnikhanov stressed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia provides great assistance in this activity. In particular, the International Economic Summit "Russia-Islamic World: "KazanSummit" is held annually in cooperation with the Russian Foreign Ministry in the capital of Tatarstan. Holding the Forum of young diplomats of the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on the sidelines of the summit is one of its features.
Summing up, Minnikhanov wished the participants productive work and useful discussions. He added that new progressive changes are possible due to the involvement of young specialists. "This also concerns the diplomatic service," he said.
