Dear Orthodox citizens!
I congratulate you on the end of the Great Fast and Easter Sunday!
There are so many epithets to describe Easter, - bright, reverend, etc. Christians call it “the holiday of all holidays” and “the tsar of days”. All these adjectives describe the meaning of this holiday that changed the world history for all Christians.
The mortal life and Easter Sunday is a precious key to salvation, repentance and development, the example of love and self-sacrifice. Easter festivities are always filled with special feelings, the joy of family communication, the warmth of good deeds and care for relatives.
In Tatarstan that is famous for old traditions of friendly co-existence of different nationalities and religions, we respect the needs of representatives of Orthodox, Muslim and other traditional religions.
Laying of the commemorative stone at the Cathedral of the Kazan icon of the Mother of God of the Virgin Monastery will be one of important events this year.
I am sure that each of us will make a fair contribution to this good cause in honour of our ancestors and descendants.
I wish you a good holiday, peace and well-being!
Tatarstan President, Rustam Minnikhanov.
